neighborhood bounty

I’m having a bit of a work-related funk going on this morning so I need something to cheer me up. And you know what cheers me up? Recognizing what a cool neighborhood I live in. Not only am I thisclose to the beach, but I can also easily walk to the harbor, the boardwalk, and of course, Engfer’s Wood-fired Pizza, Linda’s Seabreeze Cafe,  the Seabright Brewery, Brady’s, LaPosta, Betty’s, Verve Coffee and Day’s Market. I’m a lucky girl.

Yes, all of these things are wonderful, but today, what I’m really happy about is the literal fruits of my neighborhood. I know where to find bunches of rosemary whenever I might need them and more importantly, this week I find myself in possession of the following:

A batch of limoncello brewing, made with zest from a neighbor's lemons
Some artichokes from a neighbor's backyard, just waiting to be grilled or steamed.
Another neighbor brought us some local peaches last night.
