Time to make the doughnuts: gluten-free, vegan doughnuts at Staff of Life

One of my new favorite discoveries are the vegan, gluten-free doughnuts at the cafe at Staff of Lifenatural foods store.

I expected them to be dry and crumbly, but was pleasantly surprised. Despite the lack of egg and flour, these babies are very tasty. So far I’ve had both the maple and the chocolate frosted, but the latter is, I think, my preference. The maple frosting is a bit more cloyingly sweet than I’d like.
And at under $2, these won’t break the bank. I also appreciate that they’re baked in house. The other gluten-free baked goods I’ve had from S of L have all been very tasty. I’d go out on a limb and say that even if you eat animal products and wheat, you’d still like these doughnuts.
