I got really excited when BK told me that he’d spotted a sign outside our local pizzeria, Engfer’s, announcing they’d recently introduced a gluten-free pie.
We went on Saturday night and ordered two GF pies. They’re eight inches each, putting them squarely in the personal pie size. I ordered mine with spinach and Corralitos sausage, while BK went with classic pepperoni.
We were both extremely impressed. These were the best gluten-free pizzas I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of them. I talked to the owner and she decided to get the crusts from elsewhere, which made me a lot less concerned about the cross-contamination possibilities.
I am so, so excited to find an awesome gluten-free pizza — and down the street from my apartment, no less. I walked away feeling positively ecstatic. And even better, unlike so many inferior GF pies, these did not cost me an arm and a leg. The two pies, with three toppings, and a liter bottle of Blackthorn hard cider cost us about $25 before tip. That was definitely one our cheaper Saturday nights out, and one of the more fulfilling ones we’ve had in recent times to boot. Thank you Engfer’s, I will be back!
