I recently discovered that Chicago’s Pizza and Pasta not only has regular gluten-free pizza, but they also will make their stuffed crust pizza gluten-free. I’d had their thin crust once and it was decent, but I felt compelled to try this stuffed crust kind recently.
CPP offers delivery until 5 a.m., which is pretty amazing to me even though I can say with near certainty that I will never be ordering gluten-free pizza at 4:45 a.m. Still, it’s nice to know that the option exists.
Getting this baby delivered was a little pricey. There’s a $15 minimum order for delivery, plus a $2.50 fee for delivery PLUS they charge a few bucks extra for the gluten-free crust. I decided this was all worth it in the scheme of trying out new things. I opted for the mushroom and cheese stuffed crust, and I probably should have gotten the small rather than the medium.
The medium was huge! I ended up eating this pizza for dinner on a Friday, for breakfast and dinner on a Saturday and then for three meals on a Sunday. Seriously, it was crazy.
This was also one of the ugliest pizzas I’ve ever seen. Totally unattractive. Aside from that though, it was….well…it was okay. It’s hard to go totally wrong with cheese and sauce and spices and mushrooms…but it’s also very easy to struggled with gluten-free pizza. And this had that same sort of off texture that most GF crusts have. It wasn’t bad, per se, just very very dense. I’m not sure if I’d get it again. I’d definitely go for the regular GF pizza and I appreciate their efforts, but I just don’t know if I thought it was worth it.
